Choosing the right wine cellar:
Ask yourself the good questions to find the right wine cellar
Go to configuratorWhy use nitrogen to preserve wine? Nitrogen is an inert, odourless and obviously non-toxic gas. When injected into an open wine bottle, it forms a protective barrier and prevents the wine from oxidising in contact with air, and therefore from deteriorating.
This wine preservation technology using nitrogen is found extensively in the commercial sector (bars, restaurants and wine merchants), in by-the-glass wine dispensers in particular. As such, the atmospheric pressure of the wine is maintained, and nitrogen helps preserve the wine for up to three weeks.
Used in La Sommelière dispensers, you can buy nitrogen refill cartridges here, with free delivery.
